Shadow has been in foster for a few days now. Here’s what his fosterer has to say about him:
Shadow is very easy to have around so far and spotlessly clean in the house.
He is fantastic on the lead, even when our two are off lead running around the woods. I took him into town (which was busy) and he was completely relaxed with everything; people stroking him, other dogs, pigeons on the pavement a few feet away, buses going past etc. We went into a cafe for a cup of coffee and he just laid down quietly until we were ready to leave.
He is very polite and respectful to our two dogs and has good communication skills - when our male dog showed him his teeth, Shadow just politely turned his head away, despite being bigger than him. We also met our neighbour's collie pup when we were out who was right in his face with both paws on his muzzle and he just gave a low growl to ask him to get off.
He likes to stretch out napping on a rug or throw on the floor and has made no attempt to get on the sofa, despite our two both being on there with me. I don’t think he wants to sleep in a bed particularly but has been fantastic every night so far and just settles on the floor in the dogs’ bedroom, with our two in their usual beds.
He's eating well and is quite interested in foodie smells, in that he likes getting his nose in the fridge and the pantry when they're open, and has probably been given tidbits, as he sits and stares at you if you're having a snack on the sofa! He's very polite around the table though and doesn't jump up to the work surfaces or anything.
He’s settled with us so quickly that I think he'll be no problem when he finds his forever home, as he just fits into whatever is happening and really doesn’t ask for much in return.
Looking for a home with no cats or small furries. Also no young children.
